On Saturday, May 10th, 2008 I was proud to be elected to serve you on the Austin City Council.
Our large margin of victory was a testament to the hard work of many people to whom I will always be grateful.
It was also a clear signal that Austin is ready for something new and different at City Hall.
After eight months on the campaign trail, listening to Austin, I know that people want more accessible, more accountable leadership.
I will do my best to deliver both, while working hard to make a positive difference on the big issues that matter to all of us.
On transportation, on environmental protection, on neighborhood planning, on public safety, on meeting basic needs - on so many fronts, we can do better.
From the Place 3 seat, I promise I will do my part.
To be given the opportunity to serve this great city that we all love is humbling and thrilling.
